WELCOME TO MOWW

The CINC welcomes you to the new online community!

The Military Order of the World Wars is a patriotic, nonpartisan Veterans Service Organization (VSO) whose motto is, “It is nobler to serve than to be served.” Our vision is for a strong America, dedicated to preserving and advancing American ideals and founding principles. This vision is effectuated by our chapters through the work of our Companions who serve our nation and local communities by providing and supporting activities that promote and encourage responsible citizenship, patriotism, youth leadership, military and public service, veteran support, and strong national security. The Order’s principles are found in the 9 tenets described in our Preamble.

General of the Armies John J. “Blackjack” Pershing is the inspiration behind the founding of the MOWW in 1919, and the Order is continually adapting to new generations of officers in order to maintain its relevancy and ensure its success. Companions within and without MOWW chapters provide support to veterans of all ranks and services; youth patriotic (civic) education; college ROTC and high school JROTC programs; scouting; monuments and memorials; law & order programs; national and homeland security programs. Companions in the MOWW seek to inspire love of our country and flag.

We want you serving alongside us. Eligibility is open to active duty, retired and former commissioned and warrant officers of the Armed Forces of the United States as well as the officers of the uniformed Services; United States Public Health Service (USPHS), and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Our motto sums up our Companions’ commitments to our veterans, families, youth, and our country. If you want to continue to serve our nation in a meaningful and impactful way, consider joining our Order. If you have any questions about the MOWW or want to locate a chapter near you, please go to the Find a Chapter page.

Sincerely,

Lt Col DAVID J. WORLEY, USAF (Retired)
93rd Commander-in-Chief
